Methodology

Fundamental principles of how we work

The vision of the team and organization, and the process of intervention proposed by the SHAPE© method; as a systemic methodology for the analysis and development of organizations and teams developed by ShkWays allows your organization to analyse and design development interventions of it through different perspectives or interconnected dimensions.

Methodology of the analysis and organizational development, the SHAPE© method, based on these principles:

Innovative Model
Based on Creating Value
Systemic

Organizational Transformation

Entrepreneurship and
Business creation

Apps for organizational diagnosis and development of agile projects

The model offered by the SHAPE© method is adapted and produces significant benefits in both the processes of creation of new companies, as well as the processes of organizational transformation, both SMEs and big companies.

The ‘Team’

THROUGH A NEW PARADIGM

“… But if no individual can combine all these. qualities, a team of individuals certainly can — and often does; moreover, the whole team is unlikely to step under a bus simultaneously. This is why it is not the individual but the learn that is the instrument of sustained and enduring success in management.”

Anthony Jay

In the foreword of Meredith Belbin’s book called “Management Teams”

The model proposed by the SHAPE© method takes the team as a unit of management or basic systemic entity.

Unlike most intervention models currently offered, which try to infer the nature of the team from individual analysis of individual components, the SHAPE© method provides an understanding of the structure and team operation as a superior or independent entity that transcends the sum of its parts, from a greater systemic dimension from which it subsequently approaches the analysis of each component and how each one of them interrelates, participates and contributes to the creation and development of the team.

Innovation

innoSHAPE is a own methodology for developing innovation projects based on Design Thinking and Lean + Agile Thinking.

Our innovation process is a people-centred process that aims at adding value by identifying and responding to the real needs of the same.

By integrating both analytical thinking and intuitive thinking, this is an iterative process where through specific tools and prototyping and MVP’s (Minimum Viable Product) using Lean and Agile methodologies, we are reaching disruptive and innovative results to create value to our customers.

Model that identifies the variables of the
Teamwork Culture

Own method developed by the ShkWays research team working holistically the Teamwork.

The added value of this approach is that it considers all the variables studied over the various investigations and models of teamwork.

The model groups the variables into four main groups: Cultural or primary variables, Key variables, Central variables and Systemic thinking.

Again, the model includes a powerful and contrasted quantitative tool, in constant development and improvement, measuring the level of these variables identified in a particular team, and their interaction.

Model of Roles and
Team Skills

Model developed by ShkWays through its continuous research lines from the integration of the major role models and team skills.

The model is based on the innovative concept of ‘team skills’ proposed as an alternative to the unsustainable current model of individual skills prevailing at present and which transcends the role model providing an understanding of the team as a basic systemic unit, greater than the sum of its individual parts.

However, since this systemic understanding, it also explains how each person, from his personality and his tendency to adopt a particular kind of roles, will contribute a particular team he may belong to in terms of team skills.

Likewise, the model includes contrasted quantitative and qualitative measurement tools of the above-described dimensions.

Again, the model includes a powerful and contrasted quantitative tool, in constant development and improvement, measuring the level of these variables identified in a particular team, and their interaction.

Innovation, learning and change

The SHAPE method in terms of dimension, TeamInnovation provides a methodology of diagnosis and organizational development through the innovation, learning and change, innoSHAPE method.

Given its systemic nature, our method aims at addressing the issue of the diagnosis and organizational development from a holistic perspective that encompasses the different elements and processes involved in them, taking advantage of the potential synergies from the knowledge of the interrelationships of the different variables that form them.

Thus, the innovation, learning and change are three elements that make up this dimension of our methodology.

Strategy, management and structure

The strategy, management and structure elements are the elements of the TeamManagement dimension

Measuring quantitative results

I-Team is a performance measurement system that integrates rates and ‘Team’ or organization indicators, forming a set of indicators related to each of the following measurement objects in the ‘Team’ or organization

  • Team Culture. Culture Variables and Team Skills.
  • Team Innovation. Innovation, change and ‘organizational learning’.
  • Team Management. Strategy, organizational structure and management.

Through this system, we obtain quantitative and objective information that allows, one the one hand, to diagnose the organization at a given time and, on the other hand, to perform a quality and performance control of an intervention performed.

Measuring qualitative results and Team-Learning lab

STTC ShkWaysTeam Test Centre is a laboratory for experimentation, evaluation and Team Learning that integrates the necessary infrastructure and technical expertise of our multidisciplinary team of specialists in organizational development and analysis, which allows performing ‘Team’ tests and studying it as a unitary body and of each of its components.

The STTC offers to subject the ‘Team’ to some of our Team tests developed and verified, or to design, with the knowledge and support needed by NotConsulting (group company), the tests, experiments, or learning actions so as they fit to the needs of your organization in a personalized way.

Moreover, it allows collecting important information to integrate the dimension of qualitative results of the Team development.

SHAPE© learning model:

All training activities integrated into the process are based on the SHAPE© learning model, developed by ShkWays in collaboration with the University of Deusto, in order to design an innovative training process so as to achieve a meaningful learning.

In sum, this model allows designing actions that result in an active learning that culminates in a personal development, based on a learning cycle that reflects the different stages we go through when we learn.
